Holiday DVD Giveaway: We Want Your CanFilm Five

GIVEAWAY TIME! Since we launched the Canuxploitation blog in July, we’ve posted more than a dozen top 5 lists by filmmakers, writers, programmers cult film know-it-alls and all around cool people. But now here’s your chance to let other Canadian film fans know your personalized picks and score some awesome DVD prizes while you’re at it! 

Not only can you get your list up on the Canuxplotation blog, but to sweeten the deal we’re giving away copies of the NFB’s new CANADA VIGNETTES: A LOVE STORY DVD, an excellent collection of 36 classic Canadian shorts from the 1970s and 80s that will spark fond memories for anyone who grew up seeing them on TV (and yes, LOGDRIVER’S WALTZ is on there) plus Retro Films Entertainment‘s THE NOTORIOUS NEWMAN BROTHERS: RUBBED OREGANO EDITION, an amusing mob mockumentary by Ryan Noel starring Toronto’s Butler Brothers that we said possessed an “off-the-cuff, foul-mouthed charm.”  And finally I’ve got one last copy of THINGS star Barry J Gillis’ crazy new joint, WICKED WORLD up for grabs.

What You Need To Do To Win

Send an email to contest@canuxploitation.com and tell us your favourite Canadian film–any kind any genre–and explain why it rules in aprox. 25-50 words. Entries must be recieved by 12:00am, December 17, 2011. We’ll pick our three favourites.  

The Prizes

Grand prize: We’ll post your pick (plus four more favourites you supply) as a special reader edition of CanFilm Five on this blog. Plus you get copies of CANADA VIGNETTES: A LOVE STORY and THE NOTORIOUS NEWMAN BROTHERS.

Runner-Up: You get a DVD prize pack featuring THE NOTORIOUS NEWMAN BROTHERS and CANADA VIGNETTES: A LOVE STORY, plus we’ll post your entry pick when we announce the winners. 

Second Runner-Up: You get a DVD of WICKED WORLD, plus we’ll post your entry pick when we announce the winners.

This giveaway is open to residents of Canada and the United States only. The decision of the judges will be final. By sending in a submission you give permission for us to post it on this blog if it wins. Any collected personal information will only be used to reward the winner — no third parties involved.
