Shivers Film Society Comes Home with Canadadrome
Last year, when we talked to Shivers Film Society co-director Vince D’Amato, he noted his plans to bring Shivers’ U.K.-based Canadian cult film screening series back to his Vancouver hometown. Well, he’s made good on his word and Shivers’ new series, Canadadrome, a monthly spotlight on Canadian genre shorts and features, is set to debut at the Pacific Cinematheque on January 27, 2012. This all-day event will feature beer and wine for sale and local filmmakers in attendance for Q&As, providing some much-needed Canuxploitation love on the west coast.
So far two Canadadrome programs have been announced:
January 27, 2013 @ 1pm:
- The Familiar (short, D: Kody Zimmermann)
- Hike (short, D: Jennifer Campbell)
- Bong of the Dead (D: Thomas Newman)
- Cube (D: Vincenzo Natali)
February 24, 2013 @ 1pm:
- Jack (short, D: Krishan Randel)
- Madame Soliel’s Tea Party (short, D: Nadine L’Esperancel)
- The Hard Cut Double/Feature (D: Creepy Six Films)
